To make your retirement planning easier, you can now view your estimated American Airlines pension on NetBenefits®. Simply log on to your NetBenefits account and find your estimated pension next to your 401(k) balance. Navigate easily to your pension service provider by clicking on the pension title on the homepage.
Your pension will also be available to include in the Planning & Guidance Center on NetBenefits. You can find it in the Salary & Other Income section under Income Sources when you input your planning assumptions.
Q. How was my pension amount calculated?
A. The amount displayed on NetBenefits represents the estimated value of your American Airlines, Inc. pension plan benefit payable at your normal retirement date (generally, the first of the month after your 65th birthday), provided that you are vested. This is presented as a monthly annuity for your lifetime and was calculated by the Plan administrator under the terms of the applicable American Airlines, Inc. pension plan.
This amount does not consider any survivor benefit options, and you may model different retirement scenarios on the Pension Service Center.
If there is any discrepancy between this estimate and the actual benefit to which you are entitled under the terms of the pension plan, then the terms of the pension plan will control.
