To the Membership,
For those members choosing to keep their Union sponsored Hartford LTD plan, Union Benefits Planner (UBP), who administers the plan, will be communicating directly with you to set up their new deduction process through JetNet. Those members will need to set up a new direct deposit window, which will be in addition to the window that was set up last year for STD and Term Life. Each member will need to initiate this process in JetNet or they will not be set up for LTD premium payments.
UBP is also updating their contact lists as a result of the benefit changes and are requesting that members who have, and intend to keep, the Hartford, Union LTD plan, to contact them via email at info@unionbenefitplanners.com by the end of this week. UBP is requesting in the email the following information: Name, employee ID number, date of birth, email address and include TWU LOCAL 567 .
The date of birth is necessary due to the age reduction in premium at age 50. Since UBP is now the new Administrator, they can only reduce rates by having the date of birth. If you recall, AA has been the Administrator to date and had the rates programmed into payroll deduction. We need to duplicate this method with UBP now that they are administrating the plan.
It is also suggested that each member review their UBP benefits on the TWU benefits website,https://www.twuaaunionbenefits.com/index.cfm. It is more important then ever to establish an account on this site or if you already have an account; please verify and update your contact information on the website.
